I kicked off my 2013 wedding season with a little historical context. Alison & Steve were married at the historical Lisle Train Station Museum in downtown Lisle. It was such a quaint little place full of so much character. It was the perfect setting for these Civil War re-enactors who were going for a relaxed, yet eloquent ceremony and reception. It was important that the photos capture their personalities and their unique and as Alison put it, "quirky" style. They met re-enacting and although they were not trying to theme the wedding, they wanted to celebrate it. Alison's gown style was beautifully vintage and embellished right down to her fascinator. Steve and all his groomsmen donned their blue Chuck Taylors and made sure to include a Tardis on the head table.
The day would not have been complete without a battle ready canon for display and photo use. Devoted friends slumped over as the confederates were taken by the yankees creating a perfect photo op.
And did I mention Steve's Tardis? Yeah, this head table would not have been complete without it. Just like the Tardis, this wedding party certainly was "bigger on the inside" and full of love for this amazing couple! Congrats, Steve and Alison. "May you live long [together] and prosper." :)
