I am so ecstatic to finally be presenting these photos. I've been working with Jeff and Anne for almost a year now preparing them for the photography portion of their big day. We met for engagement photos last spring where we really got to know one another and then we chatted several times about the timeline for the day, the gorgeous venue (Danada House, Wheaton, Ill.) and met in person to walk through their ceremony and decided exactly where we wanted to take photos. They really went the extra mile to help me help them and I can't tell you how amazing that was.
Couples sometimes underestimate how valuable a photographer can be when planning the order of events for their special day. I try to make this point very clear in consultations all the time. Booking your photographer early has great advantages and helps your day run more smoothly when they are involved from the very beginning.
One of the biggest things regarding Jeff and Anne's day was the early evening ceremony and how to fit all the photography in afterward. My suggestion for this trend is to create a small amount of time in the day before the ceremony and before portraits begin to introduce the bride and groom to each other for the first time. I (and many other photographers) call it "The First Look." I did it here for Jeff and Anne and I do believe it turned out perfect. It was emotional, personal and candid. All the qualities you need for beautiful lifestyle photography. If you're considering a later ceremony...you gotta do a "First Look" arrangement! It's so awesome!
Thank you Jeff and Anne for allowing me to share your special day with you. I could not have asked for more friendly and trusting people to work for. Your love showed so effortlessly. I wish you many happy years to come! ~Katie
